KANNUR: An 18-year-old girl, who followed diet from YouTube, to lose weight had a tragic end. The dead is M Sreenanda, of Kaitherikandi House near Meruvambayi Health Center. She was undergoing treatment at Thalassery Cooperative Hospital for serious health issues.

The girl reduced the amount of food consumed to lose weight. Following this, her stomach and esophagus shrunk and sought treatment at Kozhikode Medical College.
Sreenanda was a first-year undergraduate student at Mattannur Pazhassiraja NSS College. She leaves behind her father Alakkadan Sreedharan, mother M Sreeja and brother Yadunand.
