KOCHI: The excise team conducted a search at the house of film makeup man Ranjith Gopinathan alias RG Wayanadan, who was caught with hybrid cannabis. Signs of drug use were found here. Cannabis seeds and stems were recovered from the house. A search was conducted at the RG Makeup Studio in Panampilly Nagar as well.

Moolamattom Excise Inspector K. Abhilash and his team arrested the accused this morning. Ranjith Gopinathan was found with 45 grams of hybrid cannabis during a vehicle search conducted as part of the Excise Department's Operation Clean State crackdown.

Assistant Excise Inspector (Trade) Ajith Kumar, Preventive Officer (Trade) Rajesh V.R, Civil Excise Officers Ashraf Ali and Charles Edwin also participated in the operation. Ranjith had worked as a make-up artist in many films including Aavesham, Painkili, Sookshmadarshini, Romancham, Jan.E.Man.
