THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: CPM central committee member A K Balan said the party has been able to address organizational weaknesses through the state meet. While talking to the media, Balan said the CPM state meet was a great success and the third LDF government will come to power. Balan also responded to the public criticism of A Padmakumar. It is not possible to include everyone in the state committee. He said that Padmakumar's dissatisfaction should not have been expressed openly.

‘Youngsters should get more chances in the party. The relaxation in the age limit for the chief minister was not given out of generosity. The party took that decision because he is the chief minister. The party will not destroy anyone intentionally. Public reaction should not be helpful to enemies. It is not possible to include everyone in the state committee. There are 87 members in the state committee and 17 in the state secretariat. There are five lakh party members. People who can contribute to the party at that time are being selected. That does not mean that the others are bad. The party not only fulfilled its obligations according to its capabilities, but also decided to give them more than it could afford, and I had rejected it. The party's contribution in making a real human being is the most important thing,' said Balan.

Pathanamthitta district secretary Raju Abraham also expressed his dissatisfaction over the party's senior leader A Padmakumar not being included in the state committee. Raju Abraham responded by saying that Padmakumar is a key leader of the party from Pathanamthitta and that he did not know under what circumstances he expressed his dissatisfaction. The party will seriously examine Padmakumar's act. Padmakumar is a beloved leader in the district. It is a common practice to invite ministers to the state committee. He also clarified that Veena George's work as a minister has been very good.
