PATHANAMTHITTA: CPM leader A Padmakumar stated that he will attend tomorrow's CPM district committee meeting. He said that his public response was a mistake and that he will comply with any disciplinary action taken against him by the party.

Padmakumar stated that his emotional response was not appropriate and that he should have addressed such matters within the party. "I have worked for the party for 52 years. Humans do make mistakes. Many people who left the party have returned. As far as the Communist party is concerned, if a member has an issue, the party will move forward by discussing and resolving it," Padmakumar said. He also added that BJP leaders visiting his home was merely a tactic to gain media attention.

The party considers Padmakumar's public response against the leadership on Facebook, on the day of the conclusion of the state conference in Kollam, as an unusual incident. His frustration stemmed from the party's decision to include Veena George, who has only nine years of parliamentary experience, as a special invitee to the state committee, while he, with over 52 years of organisational experience, was overlooked.

Padmakumar expressed his disappointment at not being included in the state committee, despite his decades of service to the party. "I stand firm on what I have said," he remarked in response to media queries yesterday.

Padmakumar is likely to be demoted from the district committee to a lower unit. He had not shown any leniency regarding his stance even when district secretary Raju Abraham and CITU state vice president PB Harshakumar visited him at his residence.
