KOTTAYAM: BJP leader P C George, who just came out of bail on a hate speech case, is embroiled in another controversy over his allegations of love jihad existing in Kerala. BJP leaders came to George's defense after SDPI and Youth Congress filed cases at Pala and Thodupuzha stations demanding that George's bail be canceled and his arrest be made.
Not a single case has been registered in Kerala in the name of love jihad. SDPI Kottayam District President Muhammed Ziyad demanded that George's bail be cancelled and he be arrested for spreading false propaganda against a community.
Meanwhile, PC George’s son Shaun George in a sardonic response said he would not risk tying up his father’s tongue from spitting out facts.
Meanwhile, The Kerala Catholic Bishops' Council (KCBC) found no offence in George’s revelations. KCBC in a press release backed George and held a different view from that of the Congress party.
“Those comments didn’t feel like targeting a particular religion. Indeed, what George expressed was the sentiment of the common man about the current changes in society" said KCBC.
P C George:
“I have clear evidence of those girls trapped in this marriage business. I am not revealing their names because those girls hail from highly reputed families. Revealing names would bring bad name to them. Recently, a girl got lured into a marriage trap in Bharananganam.
I have no problem with girls over 18 choosing their groom. But here, the girls are lured not just for marriage. Their whereabouts remain unknown after marriage. We don’t know where they are taken to. Forced conversion is also happening across the state.
