THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has informed a possibility of rain in Kerala today. A yellow alert has been issued in two districts. Malappuram and Wayanad are on yellow alert. Isolated heavy rain is predicted. Heavy rain is defined as a rainfall of 64.5 mm to 115.5 mm in 24 hours. The IMD has also said that there is a possibility of light rain at isolated places in Thiruvananthapuram in the next three hours.


Alert on fishermen
The IMD has banned fishing on the Kerala-Lakshdweep coast today. Strong winds with a speed of 35 to 45 kmph and at times up to 55 kmph and bad weather are possible in the south Kerala coast and Lakshadweep area today.

Special alert issued
Strong winds gusting up to 35 to 45 kmph, gusting up to 55 kmph at times, and bad weather conditions are likely over the south Tamil Nadu coast, Kanyakumari region, Gulf of Mannar and Maldives today.
