MUMBAI: There are only a few days left for the 2025 IPL season to begin. The IPL matches will begin on March 22. Mumbai Indians, who are five-time IPL champions, are not off to a great start this time. Their star bowler Bumrah may not play the first matches this time.
Bumrah is struggling with the injury he sustained during the Australian tour in January. It is reported that Bumrah will not play in the matches this time. According to a sports media report, Bumrah will join the team only in early April. For this, permission must be obtained from the BCCI Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru.
Mumbai's matches this month are against Chennai Super Kings on March 23, Gujarat Titans on March 29, and defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders on March 31. If Bumrah recovers from his injury, he will be available for the match against Lucknow Super Giants on April 4.
Captain Hardik Pandya will miss Mumbai's first match against Chennai Super Kings this time, as he missed the match as a penalty for a slow over-rate in the final match of last season.
