VADODARA: A woman died, and four others were seriously injured after a car driven by a drunken youth rammed into multiple vehicles in Vadodara, Gujarat. The incident occurred on Thursday night at Amrapali Char Rasta in Karelibaug, and CCTV footage of the accident has surfaced. The car was being driven by Rakshit Ravish Chaurasia, a law student. The speeding vehicle rammed into several other vehicles before coming to a halt.

The deceased has been identified as Hemali Ben Patel, a native of Vadodara. The injured include Jaini (12), Nishaben (35), a 10-year-old girl, and a 40-year-old man.

Following the accident, Rakshit and his friend were seen exiting the car and talking incoherently, as captured in the video footage. At one point, Rakshit can be heard saying, "One more round." The footage also shows a crowd chasing and capturing them.

Rakshit is currently in police custody. According to the police, the car was traveling at 100 km/h when the driver lost control and initially collided with a motorcycle. An investigation is underway. However, Rakshit has denied being intoxicated, claiming that the accident occurred while returning from a friend’s house. He further stated that he lost visibility because the airbag deployed unexpectedly.
