THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Class 10 students committed suicide at two places in Thiruvananthapuram. Ambadi Kannan (15), a native of Valiyakunnu, Attingal, hanged himself inside his house. Ambadi Kannan is a class 10 student of Pallipuram Kendriya Vidyalaya. The body has been shifted to the Medical College for postmortem after completing the inquest proceedings at the Attingal Taluk Hospital. The Attingal police have registered a case of unnatural death in the incident.
A class 10 student was also found hanging in Maranalloor. The deceased was Vaishnavi, daughter of Veena of Minnu Nivas. She took her life by hanging herself from the clamp of a fan in the bedroom of the house. Vaishnavi is a student of Maranalloor DVN MMHSS. The Maranalloor police have registered a case of unnatural death.
Many students have committed suicide since the start of the class 10 and higher secondary examinations in the state. More suicides have occurred due to exam anxiety. Yesterday, a plus-one student was found hanging in Chirayinkeezhu. Sneha Sunil, a student of Sree Sarada Vilasam Girls Higher Secondary School, committed suicide. Sneha was a softball and baseball player. The cause of death is not clear. The Mangalapuram police have registered a case in the incident. A 10th grader from Kallambalam Navaikulam had committed suicide due to exam anxiety on March 5. The deceased was 15-year-old Greeshma G Girish.
