BENGALURU: MDMA worth Rs 75 crore was seized from Karnataka, marking the largest drug bust in the history of the state. 37.87 kg of MDMA was seized by the Mangaluru police. Two South African women were arrested in connection with the incident. The arrested individuals are Adonis Jabulile (31) and Abigail Adonis (30).
An investigation, which began with the arrest of a person named Haider Ali last year, led to the two women. 15 grams of MDMA had been seized from Haider Ali. Upon questioning him, the police received crucial information about an international drug trafficking group.
Following this incident, a Nigerian native named Peter Ikedi was arrested for drug trafficking. Upon questioning, he told the police that foreign nationals were being used to smuggle drugs to Bengaluru. During the subsequent search, both Adonis Jabulile and Abigail Adonis were arrested with 37.87 kg of MDMA.
The women had been living in Delhi. Police have seized the passports, bags, mobile phones and Rs 18,000 in their possession. Abigail Adonis arrived in India in 2016, while Adonis Jabulile came in 2020. According to police, Adonis Jabulile was running a food cart and Abigail was engaged in the garment business.
