NEW DELHI: The United Forum for Bank Unions, a joint organization of bank employees, has announced a strike, raising various demands. The employees will go on strike on the 24th and 25th of this month. Since the 22nd and 23rd are holidays, the banking sector will come to a standstill for four days. Nine unions will take part in the strike.
All India Bank Employees Association, All India Bank Officers Confederation, National Confederation of Bank Employees, All India Bank Officers Association, Bank Employees Federation of India, Indian National Bank Employees Congress, Indian National Bank Officers Congress, National Organisation of Bank Workers, and National Organization of Bank Officers will include in the United Forum for Bank Unions.
The union demands hiring more employees, making temporary employees permanent, and restricting work to just five days a week.
