PEERUMEDU: A Youth Congress leader has been arrested by the police for allegedly sexually abusing a minor girl. Youth Congress Idukki district secretary and Vandiperiyar native Shan Aruviplakkal (34) was arrested by the Vandiperiyar police. The incident related to the case happened three years ago. According to the police, the girl was 13 years old when she was allegedly sexually abused by the accused. The shocking incident came to light during a counselling session conducted by the Childline authorities in Vandiperiyar. Following this, the Childline reported the incident to the police.
