THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A five-month-old baby died at the Child Welfare Committee. The incident took place this morning. Police say it was due to milk getting stuck in the throat. SAT Hospital authorities said that the baby was brought to the hospital due to suffocation. Officials say the cause of death will be clear only after the postmortem.

This is the second infant death at the Child Welfare Committee in a month. A one-and-a-half-month-old baby had died on February 28. The authorities have not yet clarified the exact cause of this death either. The baby was undergoing treatment for fever. Child Welfare officials said at the time that the baby had pre-existing health problems.
