BENGALURU: A Malayali student committed suicide after jumping from a building in Bengaluru. The deceased has been identified as Lakshmi Mitra (21), a native of Kozhikode. The incident took place yesterday at Acharya Institute in Soladevanahalli, Bengaluru. Lakshmi was a third-year BBA Aviation student.

Lakshmi jumped from the fourth floor of the college building at around 1:45 PM yesterday. Although she was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, her life could not be saved. The reason for the suicide is not yet known. Police informed that the student’s parents have been notified and a case of unnatural death has been registered. The body will be handed over to the family after the post-mortem.
