THODUPUZHA: More information has emerged in the murder of Biju Joseph (50) of Thodupuzha Chungam Mulayingal, former business partner, in Drishyam Model. Police said Biju was brutally beaten before he was murdered. These things came to light during the inquest proceedings. His hands were tied with shoelaces. Biju vomited blood after being brutally beaten. There are bruises on his face and head. Police said more details will be clear only after receiving the postmortem report. The postmortem proceedings will begin Sunday morning. The accused arrested in the case will also be produced in the court today.


Although the accused have been arrested, the police have not yet been able to find the vehicle used to abduct Biju. Biju's two-wheeler, believed to have been taken by the accused, also has to be found. The police are continuing search for this evidence.


The two-day-old body of Biju Joseph was found by the police yesterday. The body was dumped in a manhole leading to a garbage pit in the godown of the catering establishment and was covered in concrete. The incident happened at Chethimattom near Thodupuzha Kalayanthani.


Jomon Joseph (51) of Kalayanthani and owner of Devamatha Catering, a partner in Biju's event management firm, is behind the incident. The reason is a dispute over the sharing of profit. Jomon and quotation gang members Muhammed Aslam (36) of Ernakulam Idamanakkad and Jomin Kurian (25) of Kannur Cherupuzha Kalarikkal were arrested. KAPPA case accused Ashiq Johnson (27) was arrested after this incident but it was later learned that he was involved in this.


Biju had gone out at 4.45 am on Thursday. He was abducted in an omni van near Kolani. His wife had filed a missing complaint on Friday. Neighbors had informed the police that they had heard screams in the van. Following the CCTV footage, the police reached Chethimattom, a 20-kilometer-away town in Kalayanthani. Jomon's godown is here. Knowing about their dispute, they reached Jomon's house in Vettimattom. His brother revealed that he had borrowed Rs 25,000 saying that he was involved in an issue. Jomon was arrested from Aluva railway station by locating his phone. Later, the other accused were also arrested.
