THRISSUR: The Thrissur District Education Officer has said that necessary precautions have been taken to prevent excessive celebrations by children on the last day of the SSLC examination. The SSLC examination will conclude on March 26. He also informed that principals and head teachers have been instructed to be extremely vigilant in the wake of the increase in fights and incidents of violence in some schools under the Thrissur Corporation limits.
Five schools in the district that are likely to cause problems will be monitored separately. Strict action will be taken against those involved in activities such as destroying school furniture, fans, bursting crackers inside the school, causing fights, and damaging vehicles. There will be security outside the school gate from the nearest police station. PTA executive members of all schools have been instructed to reach the school on the day of the conclusion of the examination. The District Education Officer also clarified that if school materials are destroyed, the school leaving certificate will be issued only after the entire cost is recovered from the parents.
Three special squads led by the District Education Officer are conducting inspections across the district. A total of 9,945 students are appearing for the SSLC exams this year in 89 examination centres in the Thrissur education district. No irregularities have been reported in any of the exams conducted so far.
