THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB) has responded to Mohanlal's statement that the details of the offerings made in the name of actor Mammootty at Sabarimala were made public by the officials of the board. They informed that Mohanlal's statement is due to a misunderstanding and that the receipt details were not made public by the officials.

Mohanlal said this in an interview the other day. The Devaswom Board later came forward with an explanation. Mohanlal's statement is due to a misunderstanding. The media circulated the part of the receipt of the offering performed in name of Mammootty by Mohanlal during his recent visit to Sabarimala.

Only the counter foil is kept when money is paid for the offering. The rest will be handed over to the person making the offering. Even when Mohanlal made the offering, the one whom entrusted by the actor reached the devaswom counter paid the money and accepted the receipt. There was no lapse on the part of the Devaswom officials in this regard. The TDB said they hope that Mohanlal will correct his statement after realizing facts.
