Chief secretary Sarada Muraleedharan openly said about the insult she faced on her skin tone. In a post shared on Facebook, she spoke openly about the derogatory remarks of a person insulting her dark complexion, comparing her colour with that of her husband and former chief secretary Venu. In the post, the chief secretary said why the color black is seen so badly and that black is a beautiful color.

The chief secretary first shared a post on it. However, she deleted it after a few hours, but later shared a detailed post again. In the post she first shared, she said that she heard a comment about her skin color and that of her husband, who is fair. However, after being upset on the comments posted, she deleted it. The post was shared again after her well-wishers said that it is a matter to be discussed.

'Why is the color black seen so badly? Black is a beautiful color. Why is black being hated? It is the truth in the universe. When I was four years old, I asked my mother whether she could take me back to the womb and bring me back as a beautiful fair woman. I have been living with the stigma of not having enough color for the past fifty years,’ she wrote on Facebook.
