TIRUPUR: The police have arrested a teacher on duty at the examination hall for sexually harassing the girls writing Plus Two final exams. The Tirupur Konkunagar police have arrested Sampath Kumar (34), a teacher at Ramakrishna Vidyalaya in Tirupur Ammapalayam.

The incident took place at the examination center of the Government Higher Secondary School at Venkamedu in Tirupur. The girls have alleged that Sampath Kumar repeatedly touched their bodies on the pretext of checking the exam sheets during the final exams on Tuesday. There were six girls and five boys in the classroom.

After returning home, the girls told their parents about the incident. The parents then informed the examination center supervisor and the Tiruppur city police. The accused was then arrested by a team led by Assistant Police Commissioner Pradeep Kumar and Konkunagar Women Police Inspector Gomathi.
