THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A DYFI leader was stabbed by a gang allegedly involved in drug use. Praveen, the Unit Secretary of DYFI in Kumarapuram, was attacked on Wednesday night with a screwdriver by the assailants. The altercation reportedly took place after Praveen confronted the group for consuming alcohol in public.

The attack was carried out by two individuals, identified as Baiju and Chandu. Chandu, who has multiple criminal cases against him, including an attempted murder charge, remains at large, while Baiju has been taken into custody at the Medical College.

Praveen sustained a stab wound to the neck and underwent surgery at the Medical College Hospital, where he is currently receiving treatment. DYFI has alleged that the attackers are involved in drug peddling.
