THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Education Minister V. Sivankutty has announced that he has received information about the culprits in the incident where errors have appeared in the Higher Secondary question paper. The information about the individual who last checked the question paper has been obtained. The minister also announced that strict action will be taken against the culprits.
Cheating through microprinting
Director of General Education, S. Shanavas, stated that widespread cheating incidents have been identified in schools using microprinting techniques. A flash inspection involving 14 officials per district uncovered numerous cases of malpractice. The department plans to enforce strict measures, including action against WhatsApp groups and YouTube channels that facilitate cheating. Punishments will be determined during the results declaration.
Entrance Preparation
The Director of General Education said that the inclusion of new generation questions that require thinking and writing in the Higher Secondary Examination is part of quality education. The aim is to enable children to approach questions analytically instead of writing answers from memory. Such questions are included so that children do not fall behind in the entrance examination. He also said that this method will be introduced from the eighth grade in the coming years.
