The ongoing controversy and boycott threats seem to have paid dividends for the naysayers, as Team Empuraan agreed to make certain changes to the movie. Changes are being made in more than seventeen parts as per the demands of the producers. The producers approached the Censor Board for voluntary modifications.

The scenes, including the Gujarat riots and violence against women, will be changed. The antagonist character will be rechristened. The parts related to the National Investigation Agency will also be muted. The changes will be completed by Monday. The censor board will depute a new team to watch the film after the changes.

Empuraan, the second part of Lucifer, was released on March 27. Sangh Parivar, including RSS, severely criticised the movie for its anti-Hindu portrayal and skewed depiction of the Godhra riots. The film, which talks about the Gujarat riots, is receiving a lot of support from Left and Congress supporters.

Earlier, one of the movie producers, Gokulam Gopalan, responded to the controversy and agreed to make the necessary changes if required.
