THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The investigation into the death of IB officer Megha is heading to her boyfriend, Sukanth Suresh, another IB officer based in Malappuram. Taking note of the complaint from Megha’s family, a police team reached Sukanth’s residence the other day but could not find him. The police are seriously scrutinizing the bank details and call records of Megha. From the investigation, it was clear that Megha was talking with Sukanth just before committing suicide at Pettah railway station.
It was found that Sukanth had been away from home for the past week. After learning about Megha’s death, Sukanth took indefinite leave from the office.
“Megha was in a relationship with Sukanth Suresh from Edappal in the Malappuram district. He was constantly exploiting her financially. We checked the bank statement. She used to send him all her money, including her monthly salary. In return, he will send her Rs. 500 or Rs. 1,000 every month for expenses.
Some of her friends had now revealed how Megha would skip lunch for not having any money. When enquired, she told friends that all the money was transferred to the family. Even the salary she received on this February 28 was sent to his account, ' said Megha’s father, Madhusudhanan.
Karakkakuzhi, Athirumkal native Megha (25), the only daughter of retired Govt ITI Principal Madhusoodhanan and Palakkad Collectorate employee Nisha, died tragically after being hit by a train at Pettah last week in a case of suicide. The loco pilot said Megha was on the phone while walking through the track. Seeing the train coming, the young woman decided to lie on the track. The train which was moving from Thiruvananthapuram to Kollam splintered her.
