NEW DELHI: Three minutes of scenes from Mohanlal's latest film Empuraan were removed on Sunday following the criticism and controversies. The Central Film Censor Board allowed permission for the screening of the re-edited movie.

Despite a holiday, the censor board approved the movie by holding an emergency meeting. It is reported that the re-edited Empuraan will be released in theaters tomorrow. The re-edit will also include making small changes to 17 scenes, while dialogues will be muted in some parts.

Earlier, Mohanlal had shared a Facebook post expressing regret after Empuraan sparked a political controversy for its scathing criticism of the sangh politics. Director Prithviraj also clarified his stance by sharing Mohanlal's post.
