NEW DELHI: The Waqf Amendment Bill, considered important by the central government for issues like Munambam, is set to be introduced in Parliament today. Reports suggest it will be presented in the Lok Sabha at 12 noon, followed by an eight-hour debate. All BJP MPs have been given a whip to be present in the house. Similarly, opposition parties like Congress and the Samajwadi Party have urged their MPs to be present. Congress and the Muslim League have raised concerns about the bill, citing issues affecting the Muslim community and constitutional implications. Meanwhile, the stance of four NDA allies, including TDP and JDU, remains uncertain, especially given their significant Muslim voter base. With the budget session ending on Friday, the government is pushing to pass the bill in both houses before the deadline.
