THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a rain warning in Kerala for the next five days bringing relief from the scorching heat. The IMD has predicted that summer rains will intensify from today. A yellow alert has also been issued in various districts for the next five days. A yellow alert has been issued in Palakkad, Kozhikode and Wayanad today and in Pathanamthitta, Idukki, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode and Wayanad tomorrow.
These districts are likely to receive 64.5 mm to 115.5 mm of rain in 24 hours. Along with this, thunderstorm alert instructions have also been issued. Isolated heavy rain is predicted. There is a possibility of thundershowers and strong winds with a speed of 30 to 40 kmph in isolated places in Kerala these days.
