TABUK: A man and a woman awaiting their marriage in June were killed along with three others in an accident in Saudi Arabia. The accident happened after vehicles collided at Al Ula, a tourist centre in Saudi Arabia. Akhil Alex of Ambalavayal in Wayanad and Tina of Nadavayal were the two, who were to be married in June. The accident occurred 150 kilometers away while returning after visiting Al Ula. Initial information is that the other three dead were citizens of Saudi.
The vehicle they were travelling in collided with a Saudi national's Land Cruiser coming from the opposite direction and caught fire. The bodies were reportedly burned beyond recognition. The accident happened when Tina, a nurse at the Cardiac Center in Medina, was all set to go home for her wedding. Her fiancé, Akhil, a nurse in London had come to Saudi. The tragedy struck when the two had planned to go home together. The bodies are kept at Muhsin Hospital in Al Ula. The police have registered a case and started an investigation into the incident.
