ALAPPUZHA: The investigation into the arrest of two individuals, including a young woman, with hybrid cannabis has now extended to the film industry. Authorities are probing whether more people are involved in the drug trade. Deputy Excise Commissioner S. Vinod Kumar stated that the names of two film stars mentioned by the accused will be verified, and notices may be issued to them if evidence is found.

Taslima Sultana (Christina, 41), originally from Kannur and resident of Ulakanathapuram, Ennore, Thiruvellur, Tamil Nadu, along with her accomplice Firoz (26), from Mallanveliyil, Mannancherry, Alappuzha, were apprehended by the excise department on Tuesday night. They were caught arriving in a car at a resort in Omanappuzha.

Taslima, the prime accused, confessed to having direct dealings with two film stars. Investigators are examining the connection between these stars and the accused. The drug transactions were conducted via WhatsApp and Instagram accounts, but the chats have been deleted. The accused's mobile phones will undergo scientific analysis to retrieve the deleted data. Taslima is identified as a key figure in supplying high-grade drugs to Kerala from Chennai and Bengaluru.

Search for the woman who rented the car

The car used by the accused in Omanappuzha was rented by another woman. Investigators are intensifying efforts to locate her. Information will be gathered from the Ernakulam agency where the vehicle was rented, and GPS tracker data from the car will be analyzed. Investigators have obtained vital details about Taslima's communication with a middleman in Alappuzha. Reports suggest that six kilos of ganja were transported to Alappuzha.

Three kilos of ganja, worth Rs. two crore were seized from a private resort in Omanappuzha, Mararikulam. Authorities are investigating the whereabouts of the remaining three kilos. The investigation team suspects that the cannabis was divided into six boxes based on specific orders.
