THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: One more instalment of welfare pension has been sanctioned ahead of Vishu. The pension for the month of April will be distributed to the beneficiaries of the Social Security and Welfare Fund pension before Vishu. Finance Minister KN Balagopal announced that Rs 820 crore has been sanctioned for this.

About 62 lakh people will get Rs 1600 each. The beneficiaries will start receiving pensions next week. The Finance Minister has directed to ensure that all people receive pension before Vishu.
The amount will reach the bank accounts of more than 26 lakh people. Pension will delivered to the homes of others through cooperative banks.

The central government is to pay the central share of the National Pension Scheme to 8.46 lakh people. The state has sanctioned Rs 24.31 crore for this also on an advance basis. This share will be credited to the bank accounts of the beneficiaries through the central government's PFMS system.
