KANNUR: The excise took four drug addicts from a lodge near Parassinikkadavu, into custody. They have been identified as Mohammed Shamnad (23) from Maruthai in Mattanur, Mohammed Jamshil (37) from Valapattanam, Rafeena (24) from Irikkur, and Jasina (22) from Kannur. 490 milligrams of MDMA, test tubes and syringes were seized.

The women told their parents that they were staying at their friend's house. They had been taking rooms in different places and taking drugs continuously for several days.

When they get calls from home, the two would exchange phones with each other and deceive their families. The family understood that they were staying in lodges only after the excise officials called them.
