Ravi Pillai, an expatriate businessman and RP Group chairman has acquired a G600 luxury aircraft from American airline Gulfstream. The aircraft, which costs around Rs 650 crore, will land in Kochi on April 14. This aircraft, which can fly 12,223 km in a single flight, can comfortably accommodate 13 passengers at a time. The aircraft is registered as T7 Ravi.

Ravi Pillai will make his maiden flight from Kochi to Thiruvananthapuram. If required, the number of seats in the aircraft can be increased to 19. The company claims that this high-speed aircraft can travel non-stop between cities such as New York, Dubai, London, Beijing, and Los Angeles, Shanghai.

It also has 12 percent better fuel efficiency than the previous generation aircraft. Pratt & Whitney engine is used in the aircraft.

The manufacturers claim that the G600 is the world's fastest long-range private jet. The aircraft is 96.1 feet long and 25.3 feet high, with a wingspan of 94.7 feet. The interior is 51.2 feet long, 7.6 feet wide and 6.2 feet high. The aircraft, which can fly at an altitude of 51,000 feet, requires a 5,700-foot runway for takeoff and a 3,100-foot runway for landing.

The aircraft has a spacious kitchen, dining room, and conference facilities. Ravi Pillai says that the new aircraft was acquired to save travel time and travel more safely. Recently, Lulu Group Chairman MA Yusuff Ali also acquired the same aircraft. He acquired the G600 after replacing his previously used A6 YMA Gulfstream G550 aircraft.
