VYPIN: A car showroom manager was found murdered on the porch of his house. Sminu (40), son of Mavungal Antony, was found murdered on the west side of the Pallipuram Convent Beach Bridge. He had suffered a deep wound in the back of his head from a blow. The gold necklace, ring and mobile phone worn by Sminu were missing. It is preliminarily believed that he was killed during an attempted robbery.
Sminu used to live alone at home. His wife, Femi, is a teacher in Irinjalakuda. Since Sminu often comes home late, his father and sick mother, Philo, were staying at the house of their eldest son nearby.
Sminu was found dead when a friend came to his house after he did not answer his phone call yesterday morning. Munambam police have launched an investigation. Fingerprint experts and a dog squad conducted an examination. The body was shifted to Kalamassery Government Medical College for postmortem.
The investigation led by Munambam DySP Jayakrishnan is being conducted by a team consisting of Inspector Sandeep and SIs Vipin, Jayakumar, and Siju.
