MALAPPURAM: A woman died while giving birth at her house in Chattiparamba on Sunday. Asma, a native of Chattiparamba, died in the incident. Her body was taken to her husband Sirajudeen’s house in Perumbavoor. The police then shifted the mortal remains to Perumbavoor Taluk Hospital. The family was living in a rented house in Chattiparamba, Malappuram.

It is reported that Sirajuedeen, a religious scholar and a popular presence in social media for spreading religious dogma, was against taking his wife to the hospital for treatment. Even neighbors were unaware that the couple had five children. As per reports, three childbirths were conducted at the hospital.

It is reported that the family remained reclusive, having no interactions with locals. Few admitted seeing Sirajudeen driving a car last night. Appallingly, Siraj also put the news of the newborn as his WhatsApp status yesterday.
