MALAPPURAM: More details emerged in the shocking death of a woman during childbirth at her house in Malappuram Chattiparamba on Sunday. The victim was Asma, a native of Perumbavoor, who died while delivering her fifth child.

After his wife's death, Sirajuddin took her body to Perumbavoor, her hometown. The body was then shifted to Taluk Hospital with the intervention of the police.

Despite begging to be taken to the hospital, Sirajuddin refused his wife’s final pleas. As per reports, he practices witchcraft and superstition and believes in Siddha medicine. It is now reported that the woman had her first four childbirths at her house without any assistance from doctors. Sirajuddin is a native of Alappuzha.

This family moved into the rented house a year and a half ago. Neither the locals nor the neighbors were close with Sirajuddin and his family. Many see Siraj as an enigmatic person, sometimes seen in the locality riding a scooter.

Sirajuddin runs a YouTube channel called 'Madavoor Qafila' to spread religious dogma. The channel has 63,500 subscribers. The locals do not know what Sirajuddin does for a living. Siraj told the landlord that he works at a mosque in Kasaragod. Some of the locals know that he goes there to give sermons. The locals were not even aware that Sirajuddin had four children of his own. Locals admitted to seeing Sirajuddin’s wife only when she gets out of the house to send the children to school.

When inquired by neighbors the other day, Sirajuddin’s wife admitted to being six months pregnant.
