KOCHI: Perumbavoor police filed charges against Manaf, the former manager of a direct marketing company called Keltro. He is accused of mistreating employees over unmet sales targets. The case stems from a female employee’s complaint of humiliating womanhood. Two workers, with belts around their necks and crawling, are seen in the video which went viral. They told the labour officials that they have no formal complaint against the company. They described the acts as regular training exercises in team meetings.

The youths, Jerin and Hashim, claimed the four-month-old video which was leaked now made much damage to their reputation. They said they engage in such activities with a smile, and the present issue was caused by a conflict between the MD and Manaf. They reported earning around ₹18,000 monthly, including incentives. Officials recorded their statements in Perumbavoor, supervised by Ernakulam District Labour Officer G. Vinod Kumar. The pair plan to sue Manaf for sharing the video.

Labour authorities confirmed no active complaints exist but pledged strict action if issues arise. They will verify Keltro’s registration and audit its operations, starting with supplier Hindustan Power Links in Palarivattom.
