KOCHI: Actor Sreenath Bhasi has filed an anticipatory bail plea in the Kerala High Court in connection with the Hybrid ganja case in Alappuzha. His plea said the excise is likely to arrest him. He has also requested to prevent the arrest. The petition will be considered by the high court today.
The investigation in the case in which two people, including a woman, were arrested with hybrid ganja in Alappuzha, was handed over to the excise assistant commissioner. When the phones of the accused in this case were examined, hints on some actors were found. The excise had informed that these actors would be summoned and questioned after issuing notices.
Sreenath Bhasi later approached the court stating that he was afraid of the arrest and requested to prevent it. The investigation in this case is being conducted by a team led by excise assistant commissioner R Ashok Kumar. Hybrid cannabis worth crores was seized in Alappuzha. In addition, Taslima Sultan of Kannur, the main link in the gang transporting drugs to Kerala, was also arrested. Deputy Excise Commissioner S Vinod Kumar had earlier told the media that she had revealed the names of two film stars.
It is hinted that the woman was distributing hybrid ganja imported from abroad. Taslima was caught when she arrived in Alappuzha with ganja to deliver to the distributors. Her children were also with her when the excise arrested her. They were arrested by a team led by Alappuzha Narcotics circle inspector Mahesh.
