MALAPPURAM: More information surface in connection with the death of a woman after giving birth at home. Noushad Ahsani, friend of Sirajudeen, husband of the woman, said that that he had warned him against the birth at home. While talking to the media, Ahsani said that he had told Sirajudeen many times not to force his wife Asma to deliver at home. He said that Sirajudeen and Asma were very confident as she had delivered at home earlier.


'Sirajudeen used to say that Asma doesn’t like going to the hospital. Sirajudeen was a regular listener of speeches justifying home births. On the day of the delivery, Sirajudeen had tried to contact me through a friend. I asked him to take her to the hospital,' said Noushad.

Meantime, the evidence collection of the police in the case related to Asma's death will continue today. Sirajudeen, arrested was taken to the house in Chattiparambu yesterday for collecting evidence. Sirajudeen told police how and where she delivered. If the evidence collection is completed today, the Malappuram police will go to Perumbavoor the next day. The statements of Asma's relatives is likely to be recorded.

The incident related to the case happened at around 6 pm last Saturday. 35-year-old Asma died during her fifth delivery. Her first two deliveries were in the hospital and three at home. It is reported that Asma and Sirajudeen used acupuncture treatment for delivery. Sirajudeen came to know that his wife had died at around 9 pm. Sirajudeen later took the body to his house in Perumbavoor. The police then shifted the body to Perumbavoor Taluk Hospital. The baby is being treated at a private hospital in Perumbavoor.
