THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast the possibility of rainfall in Kerala over the next five days. A yellow alert has been issued for various districts. Today, the yellow alert is in place for Kozhikode and Wayanad districts. Tomorrow, the alert is for Malappuram and Wayanad.

The forecast indicates the possibility of isolated heavy rainfall. "Heavy rainfall" refers to a situation where 64.5 mm to 115.5 mm of rain is received within a 24-hour period. The IMD has also warned of thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and strong winds, with speeds ranging from 40 to 50 km/h, in isolated areas of Kerala today, tomorrow, and the day after. There is also a likelihood of thunderstorms with lightning on the 12th and 13th of this month.
