KOCHI: Th crime branch questioned congress leader Laly Vincent in the half-priced scam case. She was summoned to the crime branch office in Thripunithura and interrogated. It is indicated that she told them not only Ananthu Krishnan, the main accused in the scam, other office bearers of NGO confederation have a role in it. The crime branch said more people will be grilled in the case.
However, while talking to the media, she said that she was not summoned and that the investigation team recorded her statement as per her demand. AICC member Laly from Ernakulam appeared for questioning after skipping the AICC conference in Gujarat.
Meantime, Seed Society office bearers said money was deposited in the accounts directed by Ananthu Krishnan of Thodupuzha Kudayathur Choorakulangara and national NGO confederation coordinator and secretary. Money was taken from people by promising scooters, mobile phones, sewing machines, agricultural equipment, laptops, school kits, food kits, organic fertilizer, chicken coops, bio bins, fruit tree seedlings, water purifiers, water tanks and sewing training. Ananthu Krishnan and confederation chairman K N Anandakumar jointly organized the distribution of equipment and other programmes. In addition to individual complaints, there are also mass petitions against him.
