THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A complaint has been filed that a TTE was beaten up by a group of passengers after he asked for tickets. The incident took place on the Island Express. TTE Jayesh was assaulted by a group of passengers when he asked for their tickets. The incident occurred while the train was going between Neyyattinkara and Parasala. Jayesh is currently receiving treatment at Pettah Railway Hospital for serious injuries sustained in the attack.

The altercation began when Jayesh found a group of four passengers in the sleeper class with only general tickets. Upon being asked to pay the required fare/fine, the passengers refused. The situation escalated, and Jayesh was beaten up while being confined within the compartment. Other TTEs were alerted about the attack and the police was informed. One of the passengers involved was taken into custody by the railway police.
