CHERTHALA: A grand gathering organized by the Cherthala Union will be held today to honor General Secretary Vellappally Natesan, who is completing three decades at the helm of the SNDP Yogam.

The program will be held at Cherthala Sree Narayana Memorial Govt Higher Secondary School grounds at 4 pm. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will inaugurate the Mahasangamam and the conference. SN Trust Board member Preethi Natesan will light the lamp at the event.

90 children will join in the chorus to sing Daiva Daśakam, a prayer penned by Narayana Guru. The Chief Minister will honor Vellappally Natesan, and Minister P. Prasad will preside. The 'One family, One Enterprise' project will be inaugurated by Minister P. Rajeev. Minister V.N. Vasavan will deliver the Guru's message. Minister Saji Cherian will deliver the keynote address. SNDP Yogam Vice President Thushar Vellappally will deliver the organizational message.

CPM District Secretary R. Nassar, UDF District Convener Adv. CK Shajimohan, BJP District President Adv. PK Binoy, BDJS State General Secretary Adv. PS Jyothis will speak at the event. 'Welcome' group chairman KP Natarajan will deliver the welcome speech, while General Convener PD Gagarin will give the vote of thanks.

A huge pavilion has been set up to accommodate the thousands expected at the conference. Ahead of the conference, literary and sports competitions, a mega festival, a history seminar, and a proclamation procession were organized. The branch that scores the most points in the arts and sports competitions will be awarded a prize of Rs. 1 lakh, instituted by Adv. P.S. Jyothis, in memory of former union secretaries N.P. Thandar and P.K. Surendran.

The organizers have sought the services of government agencies, including the police, to ensure the event doesn't cause any inconvenience to the people.
