THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Just ahead of his hearing regarding the revocation of suspension, former Agriculture Department Special Secretary N. Prasanth has once again taken to Facebook with a critical post. He indirectly criticised the disciplinary proceedings, stating that it has been six months since he requested a chance to present his side, and that it's significant that there's finally a willingness to hear him out.

'If I take the matter to the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT), the proceedings will be transparent. It’s an open court,' Prasanth wrote in his post. He sarcastically added that he now feels enlightened and has come to a realisation — that the Chief Secretary seemingly holds more power than the Supreme Court. Interestingly, he refrained from directly naming the Chief Secretary in his critique.

Prasanth had also criticised the Chief Secretary in a Facebook post the previous day, claiming that the CS had initially agreed to live stream and video record the hearing, but later backed out.

Prasanth’s Facebook post:

'It has been six months since I requested that I be given at least one opportunity to present my side in the disciplinary proceedings. I asked for a transparent hearing with video recording and live streaming as the documents I submitted had gone missing. Though this was initially approved, I was later informed through the media that it wouldn’t be possible. No worries. What matters is that, even after six months, there is now at least a willingness to hear me out.

If I now take the same issue to the Central Administrative Tribunal, proceedings there will be fully transparent. It’s an open court. If the same case goes to the High Court, that too will be visible to all. If it reaches the Supreme Court, anyone can watch the procedures there as well. Now, a light has dawned inside me. I’ve had a realisation. The CS has more power than the SC.'
