KOCHI: The police are concerned that the action against actor Shine Tom Chacko in the drug case is sure to backfire. The police have not yet been able to find evidence against the actor's use of drugs. If the results of the tests on Shine's hair, which have been sent for forensic examination, are not positive, it will be a big challenge for the police.

Experts said that even if the results are positive, it will not be possible to make findings on which drug was used and when it was used. This is expected to backfire on the police investigation and further proceedings. The police will be able to proceed with the second phase of statement taking only if some kind of evidence is obtained in the case.

Kochi City Police Commissioner Putta Vimaladitya had said that no strong evidence has been received against Shine Tom Chacko in the drug case. It is clear that Shine is a drug addict. Shine is cooperating with the investigation. He added that Shine has not given a statement on others in the film industry using drugs.

Meantime, the Kerala Film Chamber of Commerce's Monitoring Committee meeting decided to take action after receiving the report of the film's internal grievance redressal committee on the complaint that Shine Tom Chacko misbehaved with actress Vincy Aloshious on the film's location. The ICC recorded the statements of both yesterday. The two attended the ICC meet.

The monitoring committee meeting directed that strict action be taken on complaints such as drug consumption on locations and misbehavior towards actresses. The organization representatives also directed that those who misbehave, disrupt the shooting or deliberately delay the shoot should be kept away.

It was also decided to prepare a pamphlet explaining the procedures for filing complaints and distribute it to actors, technical staff, other employees and organizations. The meeting was chaired by monitoring committee chairman G Suresh Kumar. FEFKA representatives did not attend.
