THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A 35-year-old man from Vattiyoorkavu has been arrested for allegedly attempting to sexually assault an 18-year-old girl after luring her with a false promise of a job. The accused, identified as Murugan, was taken into custody following a complaint filed by the girl's parents.

According to police, Murugan had convinced the girl that he was taking her for a job interview and persuaded her to accompany him in his car. However, instead of heading to the supposed interview location, he drove towards Ponmudi. During the journey, Murugan allegedly tried to molest the girl, but backed off when she resisted.

Upon reaching Ponmudi, he attempted to book a room, raising the girl’s suspicions. When she questioned his intentions and raised an alarm, Murugan abandoned his plan and returned with her. After reaching home, the girl narrated the incident to her parents, who immediately reported the matter to the police, leading to Murugan’s arrest.
