KANNUR: Just two days after Iritty native Sneha’s suicide alleging domestic torture, her family came with strong allegations against Jinesh, Sneha’s husband.

Sneha’s mother revealed how Jinesh would take her daughter to temples and subject her to witchcraft alleging that a soul had possessed her body. Sneha was found dead in her own house on April 28th.

Allegations from family:

• Jinesh tried to portray Sneha as Schizophrenic.
• He once kicked on Sneha’s stomach which resulted in a miscarriage.
• Jinesh also gave her threats of throwing acid on her face.
• This is not the first time that Sneha attempted suicide.

In the suicide note, Sneha mentioned having enough of the mental torture meted out to her by Jinesh and his family. Her family had earlier filed a complaint with police, but it was settled at court.

Jinesh is alleged to have tortured Sneha over her skin colour. Jinesh used to taunt her, saying that the baby born to them was fair-looking while Sneha had a darker tone. Citing this, Jinesh continued to physically abuse his wife, saying that the child was not his. On the 15th of this month, the couple fought over the issue, and later, Jinesh dropped his wife at her residence.
