KARACHI: Pakistan's Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has come out in support of the terrorist group The Resistance Front (TRF), which was behind the Pahalgam terror attack. Dar said that Pakistan had pressured the UN Security Council to remove the name of the TRF from the resolution condemning the Pahalgam terror attack. Dar's revelation was made in the Pakistani parliament. Dar claims that the TRF, which is affiliated with the Pakistani terrorist organization Lashkar, had no role in the attack. Dar also argues that there is no evidence for the allegations against the TRF. Dar's justification is that the TRF is not a terrorist organization but is just a 'local forum'.
Pakistan has cancelled all flights to the Gilgit-Baltistan region, fearing retaliation from India in the wake of the Pahalgam terror attack. Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) cancelled all flights to Gilgit and Skardu in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir yesterday. Pakistani media reported that the action was taken due to security reasons. However, it is not clear whether the action is temporary. Pakistan has increased alert in cities including Islamabad.
