KASARGOD: An eight-year-old boy died after falling on to a knife when his mother was cutting a jackfruit. The dead is Hussain Shahbaz, son of Sulekha of Kasargod Padi Bellurudka. The incident happened last night.

The boy slipped while playing and fell on the knife used to cut the jackfruit. Jackfruit is cut using a special knife attached to a board in Kasaragod area. The boy fell on this knife and it punctured his chest. The child suffered a deep wound in the fall.

The boy was immediately taken to a private hospital in Kasaragod, but his life could not be saved. The police clarified that there is no mystery in the incident. The inquest proceedings will be completed today and the body will be handed over to his relatives.
