THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Central Meteorological Department has warned of heavy rain in Kerala in the coming hours. According to the latest radar images, rain is likely in three districts in the coming hours. The warning has been issued for Thiruvananthapuram, Kottayam and Ernakulam districts. The Meteorological Department has informed that there is a possibility of moderate/heavy rain with thunderstorms and strong winds with a speed of up to 40 kmph at isolated places in the next three hours.

Rainfall forecast for the next five days

A yellow alert was issued in Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, Idukki, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur and Kasaragod districts today, but it was raised to red alert in Kottayam, Idukki, Kannur and Kasaragod districts a little while ago.

06/05/2025 : A yellow alert has been issued in Pathanamthitta, Idukki and Palakkad districts. The possibility of isolated heavy rain is predicted. Heavy rainfall is defined as rainfall of 64.5 mm to 115.5 mm in 24 hours.
