KOCHI: The rumours that Nivin Pauly walked out of the sets of 'Baby Girl' are not true, says the film's director Arun Varma. 'Nivin Pauly acted in my film on the dates mentioned. After that, Nivin left the film. We don't need to think about whether he went to act in any other film," Arun Varma clarified. Arun Varma added that the social media talks were not with their knowledge.

A widespread buzz against Nivin Pauly had followed the controversial remarks made by producer Listin Stephen. Listin's words that a prominent actor in Malayalam has committed a big wrong led to the discussions. Listin had said at the promotion event of the upcoming film that if the actor continues to make that wrong, things will get worse.

“It's been ten to fifteen years since I came to Malayalam cinema. And today, a prominent actor has committed a big wrong. It will likely spread like wildfire in the coming days. It could have been avoided. I hope that the actor is watching this and will rectify his wrong. If not, things will get worse,” said Listin.

Listin was criticized for the unnamed allegation. Producer Sandra Thomas had said that Listin's remarks put all actors in Malayalam cinema in the shadow of suspicion and that the statement was inappropriate. She had also demanded that the Producers' Association take action against Listin. However, the Producers' Association clarified that Listin had not filed any complaint with them.

There was a widespread talk against Nivin Pauly when all this was happening. Nivin Pauly is currently acting in the film 'Baby Girl' produced by Listin. The actor had joined another untitled film directed by Akhil Sathyan the other day. The actor had also announced the film 'Dolby Dineshan' directed by Tamar. The talk against Nivin Pauly was after putting together all these things.
