KOLKATA: Kolkata Knight Riders with a dramatic victory over Rajasthan Royals. Chasing a target of 207 runs, Rajasthan's reply ended one run short. Royals' fight ended at 205 for eight in 20 overs. Rajasthan was eliminated without seeing the playoffs with the defeat. Meanwhile, Kolkata is keeping their playoff hopes alive with 11 points from 11 matches.

Chasing a huge total, Royals lost two wickets after adding just eight runs to the scoreboard. Vaibhav Suryavanshi 4(2) and Kunal Singh 0(5) were the first to be dismissed. Captain Riyan Parag, who came to the crease at number four, scored a brilliant 95 off 45 balls, which included eight sixes and six fours, giving Royals hope. Parag brought the team back into the match with a 58-run partnership with Yashasvi Jaiswal 34(21) for the third wicket.

Dhruv Jurel 0(1) and Wanindu Hasaranga 0(2) disappointed after Jaiswal's dismissal. Shimron Hetmyer 29(23) and Shubham Dube 25*(14) fought till the last over but the victory slipped away by one run. Jofra Archer scored 12(8) and was run out on the last ball. Moeen Ali, Varun Chakravarthy and Harshit Rana bowled brilliantly for Kolkata, taking two wickets each. Vaibhav Arora got one wicket.

Kolkata, who batted first, scored 206 runs for the loss of four wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. Andre Russell 57* (25), Angkrish Raghuvanshi 44 (31), Ajinkya Rahane 30 (24) and Rahmanullah Gurbaz 35 (25) gave KKR a good total. Jofra Archer, Yudhvir Singh, Mahisha Tikshna and Riyan Parag took one wicket each for Rajasthan.
